haha, yes, breadmaking is usually messy to one degree or another. My friends and I have shared so many stories over the years of dough overproofing all over the oven, or on the top of the refrigerator, etc., when a family emergency or some other glitch distracted the baker. It’s wonderful how recoverable the whole process often is.
🙂 Yes, as much as bread might be finnicky, it’s also quite flexible… So much of that probably depends on the baker, now that I think about it. The more you learn the secrets of dough and all its fun and foibles, the more you can adapt one mistake into an eventual edible something. I’d love to hear some of your stories, Gretchen Joanna!
